Role Mission

As a construction estimator intern, you will be called upon to support the construction economist and the sales and design director in preparing and analysing estimates for various commercial, industrial and multi-residential projects. Your role will consist of taking quantity surveys, collecting and comparing prices from subcontractors and suppliers, and providing essential technical and administrative support for updating budgets and databases.

Key Responsibilities

Estimates and surveys :

• Carry out the surveys of quantities required to prepare estimates;

• Perform 3D captures of spaces (Matterport) to document projects;

• Enter and update quotes in the estimation tool.

Cost analysis and comparison :

• Request prices from subcontractors and suppliers;

• Compare and analyse bids received according to technical and financial criteria;

• Make recommendations based on comparative analyses.

Budget and document management support :

• Help update budget frameworks by project phase;

• Analyse post-project costs in Procore and produce comparative tables;

• Contribute to updating cost databases and cost codes.

Documentation and processes :

• Document processes and workflows;

• Contribute to the organisation and archiving of information related to estimates and customer proposals.

Profile

• Currently enrolled in a university or technical college degree programme in civil engineering or construction management;

• Analytical skills and attention to detail

• Strong collaborative spirit

• Service-oriented and able to work effectively in a team;

• Advanced knowledge of Excel;

• Basic knowledge of Procore (an asset);

• Be proactive in integrating new technological tools and new ways of doing things.
