Senior Estimator

  • Hybrid
    • Montréal, Quebec, Canada
  • Integrated design

Senior Estimator sought to play a key role in estimating, controlling, and optimizing budgets — from sale through design — at the heart of an integrated method.

Job description

At A+, we bring together architecture, engineering, design, project management, and construction under one high-performing, integrated ecosystem. Here, you never carry a project alone: from pre-construction all the way to delivery, you move forward shoulder to shoulder with every area of expertise, always working toward the same goal. Together, we deliver projects faster, with less friction and more value.

Role Mission

As Senior Estimator, you are A+'s center of expertise in construction costs. You step in first at the pre-project stage: you produce credible budget proposals, validate trade-by-trade pricing, and prepare preliminary tender calls. You are the guardian of critical budget line items and you approve the contract awards tied to them. You act as a shared service across all our business units: commercial fit-up, industrial projects, and real estate development.

Key Responsabilities :

  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive, reliable pricing.

  • Produce budget proposals during the sales cycle, prioritizing industrial and new-construction projects, drawing on preliminary tender calls.

  • Provide quality control over tenders run by project managers and approve contract awards on predefined key budget line items.

  • Equip account managers and project managers to build their own budget proposals — especially in commercial fit-up — through reliable, up-to-date estimating tools, in collaboration with the construction economist.

  • Act as construction cost expert-advisor to project teams, supporting them on complex elements and taking part in project sales.

Job requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of construction experience across all project types (new build, renovation, industrial, commercial), including 7 to 10 years in preconstruction and pre-project estimating.

  • Active connection to the Quebec ground-up construction market: material costs and an established network of subcontractors and suppliers.

  • Proven experience in design-build and the ability to spot inconsistencies in design documents.

  • Proficiency in Excel and estimating tools; knowledge of Revit or BIM tools and strong interest in automation and data analysis.

  • Rigor, a partnership mindset, expert-level leadership, and the ability to translate information clearly for project managers.

Fluency in French, spoken and written.

Why join us?

  • Competitive compensation.

  • Minimum of 4 weeks of vacation, plus personal and sick days.

  • Hybrid work model and flexible schedules to support work-life balance.

  • Group insurance programs, telemedicine, and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

  • Group RRSP with employer contribution of up to 3% to help build your future.

  • Annual $750 allowance for wellness and home office equipment.

  • Individual development plan.

  • Gifts for service milestones and your birthday.

  • Referral program offering up to $8,000 for successfully referred hires.

  • Parking, on-site gym, yoga classes, and a terrace. A vibrant social life!
