Senior Director, Interior Construction

  • Hybrid
    • Montreal, Quebec, Canada
  • Project management

We’re looking for a Business Unit Leader to take full ownership of the team, market development, client relationships, project delivery and financial performance.

Job description

At A+, we support private-sector commercial clients through an integrated approach—from strategic planning to project delivery. We act as a single point of contact, orchestrating the entire journey in collaboration with the architects, engineers, professionals and partners who contribute to each project’s success.

At A+, we challenge the ways of working that slow our industry down. We believe in smaller, stronger teams, decisions made close to the field and true accountability for results. If you are driven to improve how things are done and deliver ambitious results, A+ is the place for you.

THE ROLE’S MISSION

Your mandate is to lead a business unit, with full responsibility for its team, market development, client relationships, project delivery and financial performance.

You will oversee an operation of approximately 25 people and create the conditions for it to evolve as a true entrepreneurial unit—autonomous in its decisions, close to its clients and fully accountable for its results.

You will be able to draw on the expertise of A+’s other autonomous business units, including architecture, design and engineering; skilled trades; logistics and equipment; finance and administration; talent acquisition and development; technology; and other specialized teams that strengthen our delivery capabilities.

Your role is to bring the right expertise together at the right time, create strong alignment around the desired outcome and empower everyone to act with clarity and autonomy.

WHAT YOU WILL BUILD

  1. A high-performing team

You will build a team capable of taking on increasingly complex challenges. You will lead recruitment, development and key talent decisions, with the support of our talent acquisition and development team.

  2. A profitable and growing business

You will strengthen existing relationships and build new ones with clients, real estate owners, brokers and partners who generate our next business opportunities.

  3. Strong financial performance

You will be accountable for the full performance of your business unit, including revenue, margins, expenses and profitability. The goal is healthy, predictable growth driven by stronger talent, better opportunities and higher-value projects.

  4. An end-to-end client experience

You will own the entire client journey: identifying opportunities, understanding needs, developing the right solution, securing the mandate, delivering the project and building a lasting client relationship.

Your team will be recognized for consistently meeting its commitments to budget, schedule and quality.

WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE?

After one year, your business unit has a strong team and a credible succession pipeline, a healthy business development pipeline, clear visibility into its financial performance and a repeatable project delivery model.

Responsibilities are clear. Decisions are made close to the field. Projects are predictable. Clients come back.

Over time, you become less involved in day-to-day decisions while remaining fully accountable for the results.

Job requirements

  • Experience within an entrepreneurial or decentralized organization, or one operating through shared areas of expertise, will be particularly relevant.

WHY JOIN US?

  • Competitive compensation based on experience.

  • Five weeks of vacation, five flexible days and paid sick days.

  • A hybrid work model and flexible hours that help you balance work and personal life.

  • Group insurance, virtual healthcare and an Employee Assistance Program.

  • A group RRSP with an employer contribution of up to 3% to help you invest in your future.

  • An annual $750 allowance for wellness and home-office equipment.

  • An individual development plan.

  • Gifts to celebrate your work anniversaries and birthday.

  • On-site parking, a gym and a rooftop terrace—plus an active social life!

By joining A+, you will become part of a unique collective journey where every person and every idea helps shape exceptional projects and move the industry forward.
